African Birds Eye or Peri Peri or Wiri Wiri Pepper Seeds

Scoville: 25 000 SHU

These peppers became world famous for their amazing complex flavours and spice. Thanks to the large restaurant chain Nandos. Now you can recreate some of those delicious chicken dishes and spice up your next meal with the Piri Piri peppers.

What Pepper is the African Birds Eye Pepper?

Piri Piri, or African Bird's Eye chile, is a spicy pepper closely related to the tabasco pepper. Originally grown in the wild in Africa, it is now commercially cultivated in regions of Africa and Portugal for use in sauces, spices, and even medicine.

Each plant grows multiple tight groupings of these peppers, resulting in heavy yielding plants.

African Birds Eye Pepper Scoville Level

This Portuguese variety offers excellent flavor and spiciness, considered a mild pepper in terms of Scoville heat at 25000 SHU. It is well-suited for growing in pots and can grow to a height of six feet, producing abundant yields of small red pods that are ideal for making powder. Note: Piri-Piri, Peri-Peri, and Wiri Wiri are all names for hot peppers, as they are typically thin-walled and similar in size to cherries.

How to Grow Piri Piri Peppers From Seed?

To ensure optimal growth of Piri Piri pepper seeds, maintain a temperature range of 20 - 35 °C / 68 - 95 °F. If needed, the germination process can be accelerated by increasing the temperature to 79°F (26°C). Make sure to only keep one seedling per plant pod to allow ample space and nutrients for the plant to thrive.

4 four stars

Only gave it 4 stars because I just planted the seeds inside. 4 stars because they all came up nice and strong. 4 stars because the order came fast.
I will give it another stare when the fruit has set and we can try them. Very happy with the service, that I will give 5 stars.
